Each year, the Club’s members select a charity to be the recipient of funds raised by the Club’s several charity events. In 2011, the Club has selected the Aiuto Svizzero alla Pace in Bosnia     (www.swissaidbosnia.com) as its charity. The association, which is registered officially both in Switzerland and Bosnia, provides financial and other assistance to disadvantaged persons in Bosnia. It currently provides sponsorship of 160 needy children as well as help for the elderly and also has a project to help war veterans suffering from post-war trauma syndrome. The IWCL is supporting the following projects run by the association:

1. The construction of greenhouses to provide a livelihood for war veterans

2. Funding for the purchase of livestock  also to provide a livelihood to war veterans and their families

Charities that the IWCL has supported in the past include OTAF, a Ticino organization that looks after 300 disabled children and handicapped adults, and IMBEWU, a charity that helps feed AIDS orphans in South Africa.
